Access to Services
The Gateshead Housing Company is committed to meeting the needs of its current and potential customers and ensuring everyone is able to access our services.
FREE support is available to assist anyone with specific needs to access our services.
This support includes:
- Language Line (telephone interpreting)
- Other language interpreting service (face-to-face interpreting)
- Other language translating services
- British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters and Lip Speakers
- Audio version of documents and the quarterly newspaper
- Documents can be produced in large print, Braille and some in Easy Read on request
- Hearing Induction Loop Systems available at all offices and for home visits
- Same Sex Interviews on request
- Customer Care Packs available at all Housing Offices and customer contact points
- Tenant and Leaseholders 'A-Z' Handbook of Services, available in large print, easy read, and ten community languages.
- The company is working towards maximising access to all our premises to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
- A range of contact methods are available including: Letter, Fax, E-mail, Telephone, Mini-com and Text
- Assistance completing forms
- Home visits are available where customers are currently unable to access our offices.
