Welcome to HomeChoice

HomeChoice is a ‘Choice Based Lettings’ scheme – a better way of letting properties in Gateshead.

The scheme, brought to you by Gateshead Council and The Gateshead Housing Company, offers people who want to rent a property more choice over the type of home and area they live in.

You are now in the driving-seat

Properties available for rent are advertised online, in the free HomeChoice newspaper and in housing offices on a weekly basis.

Scheme members can bid for up to three properties per week, not with money, but with the time they have built as a HomeChoice member. So, the longer you are on the scheme, the more chance you have of being making a successful bid.

Register your interest today

You can only bid for a home after you have joined the HomeChoice scheme. To apply you can:

• Download an Application Form
• Call the HomeChoice advice team on 0191 433 5345
• Text CBL plus your name and address to 0762 480 4167
• Ask at any housing office of The Gateshead Housing Company
• Email homechoice@gatesheadhousing.co.uk

We will send you some simple forms to complete and will require references from current or former landlords, and proofs of identification. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions when completing these forms.
