The Gateshead Housing Company is inviting gardeners to “dig into” a free course this week.

As we look to the colder months ahead, Gateshead residents can take part in a Gardening course on Thursday, 20 October between 1pm and 3pm.

The session is one of the many offered by the company through its ‘Moving Forward’ training programme.

The free training, “Regrowing and winter crops”, will check on the progress of regrown crops from a previous session. The course will also advise on which crops grow best in winter.

Involvement and Diversity Officer at the housing company, Helen Watson, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer this exciting new course.

“It’s important to know when to plant your items to get the best results.

“And it’s a great opportunity for previous attendees to follow up on their work from last time – though newcomers are welcome too.”

The housing company’s Moving Forward training programme offers something for everyone, from leading a healthy lifestyle to social media skills, stress awareness to managing money.

Courses are open to anyone who lives in Gateshead and support is available, including transport and interpreters.
