Title: Customers Can Move Forward With Free Courses Date: 31/03/08 Gateshead residents can learn how to build both their garden and their confidence through a series of free courses starting next month.
The Gateshead Housing Company has launched its fourth annual ‘Moving Forward’ training programme – a series of free courses covering everything from DIY to healthy eating and fitness advice that help attendees build their skills and confidence. The programme, which runs through to March 2009, includes courses held by The Gateshead Housing Company, B&Q, Gateshead Council and training and development specialist Karen Knowles. Last year’s Moving Forward programme was recognised as ‘Good Practice’ by HouseMark, a national performance improvement organisation for the housing sector. Mark Johns, Involvement and Diversity Manager for the housing company, said: “The Moving Forward courses are very popular with our customers and residents across Gateshead. “The housing company has a commitment to involving customers and residents in its plans for housing in the borough. "By joining the courses customers can have fun, meet like-minded people and help influence the company's plans in the future." The courses are organised by The Gateshead Housing Company’s Involvement Team, which recently appointed three new members of staff to help involve more customers in the company’s future decisions. Anyone wanting to book a place on any of the courses, or get a free copy of the Moving Forward brochure should contact the Involvement Team on 0191 433 5357 or e-mail: lisawilkinson@gatesheadhousing.co.uk The full Moving Forward course programme is also available online at: www.gatesheadhousing.co.uk/gettinginvolved/movingforward.htm |
