Title: Budding Journalists Can Win Laptop or Camera Date: 21/04/08 The Gateshead Housing Company is looking for its tenants and leaseholders to help decide the ‘housing news’ over the coming year.
The company, which produces a regular newspaper to keep customers informed about work to improve services, is carrying out a readers’ survey, with a laptop or digital camera on offer for one lucky reader. The survey was the idea of the company’s own editorial panel of tenants and leaseholders, who are involved in deciding the type of news, stories and features that residents in almost 22,000 homes receive four times a year. It asks readers what extra information they would like to receive in the future, as well as what features and stories they currently read or don’t. A prize of an internet-ready laptop or digital SLR camera will go to one reader drawn at random from all completed surveys on Friday, 30 May. Ian Clarkin, Communications Manager for the company, said: “Results from previous annual surveys show that up to 98 per cent of residents read our newspaper. “And The Gateshead Housing Company News is also the company’s most cost-effective, value for money way of communicating with all customers. “But, we know with our tenants and leaseholders’ help, that we can make it even more readable, informative and useful, for thousands of readers across the borough.” Tenants or leaseholders who are interested in getting involved in the regular editorial panel should call 0191 433 5382, or e-mail involve@gatesheadhousing.co.uk The Gateshead Housing Company News Survey April 2008 (PDF 59k) |
