Title: Ninety Six Per Cent of Housing Customers Happy With Services
Date: 18/04/08
The Gateshead Housing Company has received a huge 'thumbs up' for the quality of its services, after carrying out its latest annual survey of customers.
Of the tenants and leaseholders that completed the survey, 96 per cent were satisfied with the overall service the company provides, with similar results for customers’ opportunities to 'have their say' and influence decisions.
This was a further improvement on the results of last year's survey, and on similar surveys held each year since the company was set up in 2004.
The company’s value for money, and the homes and neighbourhoods that people live in, also scored very highly.
Results of the survey, carried out during January and February were:
- Are you happy with the services that you receive from The Gateshead Housing Company? Yes – 96 per cent (2007 result - 92 per cent)
- Are there enough chances to 'get involved' and influence decisions made by the company? Yes – 95 per cent (2007 - 90 per cent)
- Do you consider rent to be good value? Yes – 92 per cent (2007 – 89 per cent)
- Are you satisfied with your neighbourhood? Yes – 92 per cent (2007 – 88 per cent)
- Are you satisfied with your home? Yes - 88 per cent (2007 - 85 per cent)
Bill Fullen, Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted that so many of our customers are happy with the services that we offer them. But, despite this high level of approval, we won't be sitting back and resting on our laurels.
"We intend to keep on improving our services, making over £1m a week of improvements to local homes; asking our tenants and leaseholders for their views; and most importantly of all, keep on acting on those views."
The company will carry out a similar survey every year, in order to keep on tracking the views of its tenants and leaseholders.
