The Gateshead Housing Company is committed to ensuring that new tenants are given the best possible service in order to help sustain tenancies and create sustainable communities.

The Gateshead Housing Company aims to visit all new tenants within six weeks of the start of their tenancy.

The HomeWelcome visit is an important first point of contact between the Estate Officer and the new tenant.

It is a courtesy visit to welcome the new tenant and check how they are settling into their new home.

During the visit a number of important issues can be discussed such as rent payments, housing benefit, HomeRepairs and anti-social behaviour.

The visit provides an ideal opportunity for new tenants to discuss any issues with a member of staff and any problems can be addressed at an early stage.
