Gardening scheme

The Gateshead Housing Company has a Gardening Scheme in your area.

Tenants who sign up to the scheme will benefit from regular visits throughout the year by a dedicated Gardening Team, to carry out:

• Grass cutting
• Pruning
• Hedge trimming
• Weed kill
• Cutting back
• General tidy-ups.

The service costs £6.05 per week and will be added to your rent.
If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit and are affected by one or more of the following conditions, the weekly charges may be covered.

• A physical impairment
• A mental health condition
• A long-term illness.

Please note: If there are two or more adults living in the property, all adult occupants must be affected by one or more of the above conditions in order for Housing Benefit to cover the charge.
