Free advice for hard-pressed families

Gateshead residents looking for help with their financial or legal worries are being offered free advice at a special event in the borough this week.
A team of professional advisors will be based at St Joseph's Church in Gateshead Town Centre this Friday (12 February) to offer advice on a wide range of issues including debt, housing, welfare benefits, pensions and family issues.
The event is being held at the Emmaus Centre, which is in the grounds of St Joseph's Church in Walker Terrace opposite Gateshead Bus Interchange, from 9.30am to 4pm.
The event is being organised by Gateshead Council's Economic Development Service, as part of its financial inclusion strategy in partnership with the Gateshead Community Legal Advice Centre.
A range of advisors from Gateshead Council's Revenues and Benefits, Housing Options Team, The Gateshead Housing Company, Jobcentre Plus, Age Concern, The Carer's Association, the local Primary Care Trust will all be present.
Advice will be offered free-of-charge, and there is no need to book.Feeds from the Web
