Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs): Outline
From 1 October 2008, The Gateshead Housing Company provides an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to customers renting a home from us.
The certificate gives information about the energy efficiency of the home you rent.
If you were already renting a home before 1 October 2008 and have carried on living there after that date, we are not required to provide you with an EPC.
If you have recently given us notice that you are leaving your home, a Domestic Energy Assessor may need access to your property to conduct an energy survey.
