A project to brighten up a sheltered scheme in Gateshead town centre has shown how a little goes a long way.
The small pot of money is used to make big differences to those living in schemes across the borough.
The planting around the entrance to the scheme near Windmill Hills will be in full bloom over the summer and has attracted compliments from residents and visitors alike.
Christine Potts, Sheltered Estate Officer, said: “The plants have made a real difference to the scheme and will do for years to come.”
