Groups in Gateshead are being invited to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 for activities and schemes that bring local communities together.
The latest grants from The Gateshead Housing Company’s Community Fund are set to be made after the current round of applications closes on Friday 8 December.
The fund, which is also supported by Gateshead Council, can offer grants of between £500 and £5,000 in cash or in kind (or a combination of both) to voluntary organisations in Gateshead who provide support to housing company tenants.
Since the fund was set up in 2006, grants totalling more than £500,000 have been made to more than 120 groups across Gateshead.
Jon Mallen-Beadle, Managing Director of The Gateshead Housing Company, said: “We are always keen to support local groups that involve people of all ages and backgrounds to make a real difference to their community.
“The application process is straightforward and advice is available to groups who might not have looked to apply for funding before.
“So I would say to any group or organisation in Gateshead that wants to make the borough a better place to live to find out more about the grants we have available this year.”
Applications should be made using the Community Foundation’s online application process.
Applicants should be from voluntary organisations and charities that are based in, or work in, the borough of Gateshead who have not had a grant from this fund in the last twelve months.
Please see Community Foundation guidelines for full details about types of organisations we can support and what applicants need to have in place before applying.
If you have any queries about the Fund, email Jon Goodwin at the Community Foundation or call 0191 222 0945.
Applications need to be made by Friday 8 December 2017 for the latest round of grants. However, further grants will also be made next year from any subsequent applications.
