The Gateshead Housing Company has achieved the Positive about Disabled People symbol and Investors In People (IIP). The Gateshead Housing Company is committed to Work Life Balance.
The Gateshead Housing Company aims to be an employer of choice and attract employment applications and requests for work placements from people from the many diverse communities represented in Gateshead.
One of The Gateshead Housing Company’s values is ‘Embracing equality – valuing difference’.
This value helps to ensure that all local people are valued equally and have equality of opportunity, it also helps to make sure we do not directly and indirectly discrimination against any individual or group.
Various support mechanisms are in place to assist the company and its employees to achieve this. In the past the company started a work placement program to assist people from our diverse local community to build the capacity and get experience in a work environment.
Recent success has included several people from ethnic minority backgrounds spending a period of time working for the company.
They gained valuable experience about British work culture which was very different to that which they are used to.
The placements also gained valuable skills and experience from on-the-job training. Many of the placements have gone on to secure permanent employment with other local organisations.
If you come from a diverse background and would like an opportunity to undertake a work placement with the company, please contact the Human Resources Team on 0191 433 5333 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
