A new initiative to tackle food poverty in Felling has just been launched.
Felling Food Network collects surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, and donations from members of the local community. It is then made into parcels to provide three days’ worth of food to those most in need.
The Network, which is based at Felling Community Centre, has successfully applied to be part of FareShare, which is the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. Members of FareShare receive a weekly supply of fresh food and store cupboard ingredients.
