The Gateshead Housing Company has thrown a Christmas party to thank its tenants and leaseholders who ‘got involved’ to help make housing services better this year.
The gathering was held at The Salvation Army, Sunderland Road, Gateshead, on Thursday 17 December, with a buffet lunch, music, Christmas quizzes and raffle prizes.
Residents who attended were members of a range of resident involvement groups, such as scrutiny panels, Service Improvement Groups, and forums.
There are many ways to get involved in shaping The Gateshead Housing Company’s services, including:
- Mystery shopping
- Becoming a Board member
- Taking part in focus and service improvement groups
- Going on Estate Tours
- Free training courses the housing company provides.
Lois Mackay from the housing company said, “It’s lovely to see everyone having fun here today – and it’s a great opportunity for customers to tell us what they’ve enjoyed over the last year and what they’d like us to focus on next.”
Involvement and Diversity Officer Helen Watson said: “The housing company has always involved customers in helping us to improve our services.
“Many of the ways to get involved take very little time to do, but can have an enormous impact to the lives of thousands of other people in the borough.
“Customers who are interested in getting involved can find out more at The Gateshead Housing Company website.
“Alternatively, they can email the Involvement Team or call 0191 433 5357.
