flowersThe Gateshead Housing Company is inviting budding gardeners to think ahead of the current cold snap and sign up for a course to make their summer ‘blooming’ marvellous.

Residents can take part in a free ‘Summer gardening’ course on Friday, 20 March between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

The free course will offer green-fingered attendees advice on preparing their garden for the summer months.

Involvement and Diversity Officer at the housing company, Helen Watson, said: “This popular course is back again to help residents make the most of their garden, and covers tub planting, hanging baskets and the best time to grow certain plants.

“To book a free place or to find out more call 0191 433 5357 or email involve@gatesheadhousing.co.uk

The course is open to anyone who lives in Gateshead and support is available, including transport and interpreters.

The ‘Summer gardening’ course is part of the company’s free Moving Forward training programme that gives residents the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and improve housing services.
