Free courses for tenants in Gateshead

by The Gateshead Housing Company & filed under Get involved, News.

Computer mouseTenants of The Gateshead Housing Company have the chance to develop two different skills at our free courses running over the coming weeks.

Whether you want to get crafty and make something lovely for your home, or you’d like some help to improve your computer skills, we have something for you.

Both courses take place on Mondays at Warwick Court communal lounge in central Gateshead (opposite the Civic Centre), and all of our tenants are welcome, not just residents of Warwick Court.

We are encouraging participants to come along to every session to get the most out of them, but those who can’t make it every week will still be most welcome.

Craft course – Mondays 10am-noon
This covers glass-painted vases, storage jars and pictures, and also cushion-making and wall hangings. All items produced by residents can be taken back to their flats.

Computer course – Mondays 1pm-3pm
This covers basic computing.

We are also looking for residents’ requests for other training (eg maths, English, languages, job support, CV writing), so please get in touch with your ideas.

Email the Central Housing Office or call 0191 433 2730 to find out more or make a suggestion for future training courses. Alternatively, you can speak to UNISON’s Union Learning Representative Mary Titler on 0798 451 9630.
