Warwick_Court_Christmas_lunch_2015_001A popular lunch club in central Gateshead celebrated its one-year anniversary with a free Christmas meal for its regular customers.

Gateshead residents enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner – complete with crackers, party hats and mince pies – with a special Christmas quiz afterwards.

Tenant Pat Johnson, of Regent Court, said, ‘It was a lovely meal. I really enjoyed myself.’

And Terry Burlison, who lives at Priory Court, added, ‘I really enjoyed the meal and coming to the lunch club every week.’

The regular lunch club, run by The Gateshead Housing Company in association with Destiny Church North East, is held weekly at Warwick Court in Gateshead town centre.

The club is open to all residents, not just those who live in Warwick Court.

There is a coffee morning and bingo for only 50p from 10.30am. Lunch, followed by a prize quiz, is served at 12.30pm, and costs only £1.50.

Warwick Court lunch club is open every Thursday from 10.30am and offers a great place to meet new people and catch up with friends.
