Free money management advice for Gateshead’s younger residents

The Gateshead Housing Company is helping its younger residents to manage the purse strings.

Two one-hour ‘Money management’ taster sessions will take place on Wednesday, 15 May at 10am and 1pm at the Gateshead Advice Centre, Swan Street, NE8 1BG.

Jonathan Graham, Rent and Income Manager at the housing company, thinks this is a great way for people just setting up home to get free advice on making ends meet within a tight budget.

He said: “We all know how the current economic climate has put a strain on residents’ finances.

“The housing company is therefore working closely with the Citizens Advice Bureau, who are based just off Gateshead High Street, to help people having to manage their own money for the first time to prioritise their bills, and make sure they are claiming any benefits they are entitled to.

“The tasters only last one hour and it could really pay to come along, so call us on 0191 433 5357 to find out more.”

Help to attend the course, including transport and interpreters, are available.

The housing company also offers a full-day ‘How to manage your money’ course for customers who want to know more on how to budget.

This demand-led programme will be run at a time and place convenient for all interested parties – find out more here.

Money management advice is also available from the housing company.
