We believe it is important to hear your views and suggestions about the services we provide. By getting involved you can:

  • Influence decisions that affect you
  • Help us provide better quality customer-focused services
  • Make your area a better place to live
  • Help us to better understand the needs of people from different backgrounds
  • Make a difference to housing in Gateshead
  • Develop your own skills.

We offer customers a range of opportunities to engage meaningfully with the company, depending on the time you have available and areas of interest. You can choose how and when to get involved and select the type of involvement that suits you best. These include:

Scheduled meetings

Focus groups

A focus group may be a one-off or series of meetings where customers review an issue or work on a specific project. These groups will usually end once the programme is complete. Examples of recent focus groups include developing the programme of Estate Walkabouts; working on a Mate Crime project and a Customer Satisfaction project.


We recognise that not everyone has the time or wants to attend meetings. We provide other opportunities online to help you keep in touch and share your views. We send a monthly e-newsletter by email to customers who subscribe. This includes current news stories, customer involvement opportunities, community activities and online surveys. Sign up here to receive your copy. We also operate a TGHC Talks Facebook account where customers can discuss specific issues or topics.

Other ways to get involved and provide feedback

Our involvement guide – Engaging Gateshead – shares all the different ways you can get involved with us. 

We can provide a range of additional support to help you get involved. This can include British Sign Language interpreters, information in alternative formats and help with transport.
