This year’s Hate Crime Awareness Week 2015 is 10-17 October.

A hate crime is any incident which can be perceived as being motivated by prejudice on grounds of race, religion, sexual orientation or disability and can include name calling, graffiti, physical abuse, damage to property or arson.

Employees from The Gateshead Housing Company, Safer Gateshead Team of Gateshead Council and Northumbria Police will be in Gateshead’s Trinity Square at lunchtime on Monday 12, Wednesday 14 and Friday 16 October.

We will be handing out leaflets regarding support available for victims of Hate Crime and of course will be available to talk to anyone who needs support.

If you wish to speak to someone anonymously please contact ARCH on 0191 433 2648. Lines are open 24 hours a day.

Or find further information on the ARCH website.
