The Gateshead Housing Company has won a top housing award for its efforts to involve customers in improving services.
The company, which manages almost 20,000 homes on behalf of Gateshead Council, was shortlisted for two awards in the 2015 Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Northern Region Awards, scooping the accolade for Excellence In Co-Regulation.
The award recognised the work of the company’s multi-storey inspectors, Leasehold inspectors, and the TALISMAN (Tenant and Leaseholders Independent Scrutiny Management) Panel.
The housing company was also shortlisted in the Excellence In Tenant Led Scrutiny category.
The annual TPAS awards scheme acknowledges the efforts of tenants and housing organisations to improve people’s lives and communities in the north of England.
Jon Mallen-Beadle, Managing Director of the housing company, said: “We are delighted that the work our involved customers have done to make a difference has been recognised by these prestigious awards.”
The company will now go on to the national final in July, competing against other winners from the rest of the UK.
