The Gateshead Housing Company is inviting residents to grow their gardening skills this July.

This new course, on Tuesday, July 21 from 10:30am till 12:30pm, will help Gateshead residents make the most of their garden.

The session is one of the many offered by the company through its ‘Moving Forward’ training programme.

The free training, “Propagation, cuttings and composting”, will focus on growing plants from cuttings, and how best to propagate them.

We will also cover how to compost, and what you can put in your home compost.

Involvement and Diversity Officer at the housing company, Helen Watson, said, “We’re delighted to offer this exciting new course.

“Knowing how to take cuttings and grow from them, and the ability to make your own compost, are very useful skills to have for the long-term success of your garden.”

The housing company’s Moving Forward training programme offers something for everyone, from leading a healthy lifestyle to social media skills, stress awareness to managing money.

Courses are open to anyone who lives in Gateshead and support is available, including transport and interpreters.
