As our 2018/19 Moving Forward programme is launched this month, we felt it timely to shout about the last year’s courses and share some of the positive feedback we’ve had about them. Who knows – it may tempt you to have a go at something new this year!
Last April saw the launch of a new look to our customer training, and it certainly caught the eye of many of you. Lots of people of all ages signed up to courses to develop their skills and knowledge – and we’re hoping for the same this year.
With the help of our customer focus group, this year you will see a refreshed design, still maintaining the look and feel of last year. We’re excited to announce some new courses too: Understanding Universal Credit, Nutrition and Health Awareness, and The Principles of Physical Activity.
It was great to see lots of new faces attend courses last year. From gardening to digital training, dementia awareness to confidence building, there really is something for everyone!
When asked “Why did you go on a training course?”, one attendee told us, “To learn, or to bring up to date what I did know. There’s always something new.”
Another attendee told us about the difference going on a course made to them saying, “I had a very bad year health-wise and it would be made worse if I hadn’t learnt about stress.”
Supporting the wider health agenda of people living in Gateshead, we aim to provide courses that are topical and fulfil the needs of local residents.
