healthA free course will help Gateshead residents to get their ‘five a day’ and watch their waistline.

‘Health awareness’ from The Gateshead Housing Company is a free session that offers hints and tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

The course, which will take place on Friday, 6 February 2015 between 2pm and 4pm, is a great opportunity for people wanting to improve their health and wellbeing.

Helen Watson, Involvement and Diversity Officer at the housing company, said: “Our ‘Health awareness’ session will highlight that maintaining a balanced diet and exercise regime doesn’t have to be a chore.

“And we hope that by attending, residents will see the long-term benefits to their health and wellbeing by making just a few simple changes to their everyday routine.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Places are available on a first come, first served basis to Gateshead residents – just email the Involvement Team or call 0191 433 5357.

Help is available to attend courses, including transport and language interpreters.

‘Health awareness’ is part of the housing company’s Moving Forward programme, which aims to teach residents new skills in an informal environment.
