At The Gateshead Housing Company, we want to make sure we meet the different needs of all our tenants and leaseholders.
To do this we need to make sure we have up-to-date information about you to give the help and support you may need.
We would like to check what we know about you at the moment and ask you a few extra questions.
What is this all about?
Our customers are very important to us.
We want you to tell us about the people living in your home, so that we make sure the services we provide are right for you.
We will be contacting everyone over the next few months to try and update the information we already have and ask a few extra questions.
We also need to make sure that when we provide services, these don’t discriminate against any specific group or part of society.
To do this, we need to get information from everyone to see if we start to see patterns.
What do you need to know?
The form asks standard questions on age, gender, religion, your ethnic background, sexuality and disability.
Some of these are questions we haven’t asked before. But the information is really important when planning how we provide services in the future.
How will you use this information?
We will use the information you give us to make sure we provide support, advice and information in the ways our tenants and leaseholders want and need.
The information will help us to look at how we plan for the future.
We will let you know through our regular newspaper where this type of information has been used, so you can see it is making a difference.
What if I don’t understand the form?
If you have trouble filling in forms or don’t understand what we are asking, please contact us.
Any officer of the housing company will be happy to go through the form with you.
We may phone you or visit you if we don’t hear anything, to make sure you are able to complete the form.
How will you keep my information safe?
We comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, making sure we protect any personal information we collect.
This means that some of the information you provide us with will only be used to look at trends, and won’t be available for officers to see when you contact us.
There is a section on the form about confidentiality.
Remember, if you feel really strongly, you can tick the “prefer not to say” option.
