We are looking for two new independent members to complement our existing Board, made up of five tenants, five councillors and five independent members.
Our two new Board members will bring their expertise, experience and personal characteristics to help guide the housing company in its transition period of reintegration into Gateshead Council.
No definite dates have yet been established for the transition process to be completed, and final decisions will follow the planned programme of consultation with customers, employees and other stakeholders. The new Board appointments will initially be for the remaining life of The Gateshead Housing Company and initially will be appointed as co-optees.

Attributes and qualities of independent judgment, constructive challenge, contribution to strategy development, understanding of risks and how to gain assurance about mitigation, commitment to developing values and standards and to equality and diversity
Experience, knowledge and expertise in areas vital to the company’s success in the process of service transition, in particular strategic and business planning and experience of service transition and transformation, organisational structure and culture change management, performance monitoring systems, asset management and financial and value for money delivery
Personal competencies which demonstrate effective communication, customer focus, partnership working, positive teamwork and leadership.
